2006-12-23 - New carpet layed and dashboard pre-installed

Today we removed the rest of the old carpet from the car.
Then we built a platform for a second car battery, which will be installed into the trunk, where the spare tire used to be. We cut a sheet of metal out of an old fender and made the platform out of it.
After that, we put the new carpet into the car. It fits perfect, though its not an original product. It is a little bit oversized so there is enough room for corrections. The molding is perfect. The most work was to cutout the holes for the gear shift, the handbrake and so on.
Additionally, we placed the dashboard into the car, to see if it fits. But it will still need some work to fit perfect.
